Garden School is housed in a group of connected buildings on a tree-lined street in the historic district of Jackson Heights. Our facilities include the following:
  • Renovated library (2000) with 11,600 volumes and six Internet-ready computer stations for student use. Students learn early on how to use the library and are encouraged to be there during the day. The library is open until 4 p.m. on school days.
  • Two science labs
  • Dedicated computer center equipped with IBM-compatible PCs and printers. All computers are Internet-ready for research and education enrichment purposes. Access is monitored, with filters for inappropriate sites and teacher supervision when younger students are using the computers. (Computers is a required class for grades 1–6.)
  • Fully stocked art room with dedicated instruction in world-renowned artists and fine art media.
  • Dining room that serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Hot and cold lunches, prepared in Garden School’s kitchen, are served daily. A pre-paid meal plan is available, and students may buy lunch on an intermittent basis. Students may also bring their own lunch from home. (Grade 11 and 12 students may leave school premises for lunch with signed consent from their parent/guardians.)
  • Supervised outdoor playground for nursery through grade–3 students.
  • Large, air-conditioned gymnasium
