The process begins by making contact with a radio operator, and fill out a ARRL Radiogram of 25 words or less. The message is relayed through multiple stations until it reaches the desired person. They can relay a message through different relief organizations (such as the Red Cross) letting you know their location, their well-being or any other information.

If a member of your family or a friend is in one of those areas and you would like to send a message to them, please contact our station at k2gsg@gardenschool.org. We will help you fill out a Radiogram and then members of our station will start the relay process.

Readers who have friends and family that live in areas impacted by natural disasters, may want to provide the call signs below. With these call signs, they would be able to go to a relief organization after a natural disaster, and send a message to Garden School or Mr. Hale directly. The message can then be forwarded.

Garden School’s call sign: K2GSG
Mr. Hale: KD2LPM
